During our stay in Peking, we were lucky to be invited to spend a night at the hotel Michael's House. After spending a couple of nights in a fairly fair hostel, sleeping in a boutique hotel was a luxury and we were able to recover the energies a little.
The Michael's House hotel is a small hotel that only has seven rooms around a patio traditional chinese style. In fact, its owners bought the building located in an old hutong which they renovated to locate the hotel, which opened in early 2008 coinciding with the then imminent Olympic Games. The hotel is built and decorated with a lot of tasteOr, and it's like a little oasis. We sleep in the room standard which is not very big, but very comfortable and beautiful. In addition, there is connection Wifi Pretty fast and includes breakfast.
Perhaps one of the drawbacks is the location. Is located about 10 minutes walk from the metro station Jishuitan and we did not find any taxi driver who wanted to take us to avoid carrying the luggage. We might not have the well written address in Chinese. So you don't have the same problem, here I leave you the address:
On the other hand, It is not relatively close to any tourist attractionbut is in a Very lively neighborhood with many shops and restaurants. For dinner, we asked the girl at the reception to recommend a cheap restaurant of typical Chinese food and we went to one that is almost next door. The appearance of the place is a bit shabby and, if I tell you the truth, I would not have entered on my own foot, but we enjoyed one of the best meals of the trip. The letter was only in Chinese, but luckily, the hotel employee was a forecaster and wrote us a note with what we wanted to eat so we had no communication problems. The Michael's House too organize excursions around the city and to various points of the Great Wall like Badaling and Mutianyu.
