Apartments and B&B Wimdu

A few months ago, I had a € 75 voucher to use in Wimdu in a raffle that made our friendly website of Chavetas. Since I have not made any trips since then, I left the ticket aside and had almost forgotten it completely. Now that we have our trip to Peru in sight, I have decided to use it, and by the way, I have begun to investigate a little about Wimdu.

What is Wimdu? Basically it is a portal that puts apartment owners in contact and bed and breakfast with travelers looking for an alternative type of accommodation, with more contact with native people. It was created in Germany in March of this year and to date it has 25,000 registered accommodations.

Due to the nature of the service, it is much easier to find an apartment in Madrid for the weekend or a bed and breakfast in the neighborhood that you like most in Barcelona or accommodation in Edinburgh than in Aguas Calientes (Peru), for example. In fact, as our next destination is Peru and, although we already have half of the reserved accommodations, I looked for accommodation in Aguas Calientes, Arequipa and Lima through Wimdu.

In Aguas Calientes I found nothing, and in Arequipa only one and quite far from the center. However, in the capital of Peru we have found a variety of apartments and bed & breakfasts distributed throughout Lima from € 7 to € 94. Finally, we have opted for an apartment in the Miraflores neighborhood for € 49. When we return, we will tell you how it went!
